ROC & SEA Working on Production Guidelines for Unscripted (Realscreen)
There can be confusion and frustration about how to produce TV sustainably, especially in unscripted when many of the guidelines have been written for scripted productions or within a UK & European context, which doesn't always translate here.
Nicholas Sokic at Realscreen reached out and spoke with Reality of Change’s Cyle Zezo and others in the space (including Sam Read of the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance and Marsha Newbery of Producing for the Planet) about this very idea: the challenges and opportunities around reducing waste and emissions in unscripted production.
In that conversation, Reality of Change and the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance shared that we are partnering to create an unscripted version of SEA's sustainable production guidelines in response to what American reality producers have told ROC about the needs and gaps in our sector.
